Seed Of Destruction

Seed was the first song we wrote since the re-incarnation of the band. It's an aggressive song and represents the energy that got the band together well. This song is about being different and hating the world that spawned you, being above it, beyond it, yet still to be it's victim. Seed was changed a bit from the demo to make it even sharper and more in your face.
Inside The Machine

As soon as we finished the music for this song we knew it would be the title track, it just had that sound to it. It took some time until we found the right lyrics for it, but as soon as Mårten came up with Inside The Machine we all knew this was the one. Inside The Machine is about mankind's need to dominate and destroy, a dark theme well suited as the flagship of the album. The cover was a direct result of the song it self, and since Leo did the cover it's exactly what we wanted.
Pitch Black

This is also one of the first songs we wrote. It was changed a few times before becoming what ended up on the album. This song is about standing up for what you believe in, it's also about fighting the status quo, the grey masses, with others who also refuse to go blind though life.
Plague Angel

Plague angel was the undisputed fan-favourite song from our three-track demo Let The World Burn, it was also the last song finished for the demo before we went into the studio. The lyrics of Plague Angel are about the inner strife that we all carry within our selves.
Lidless Eyes

Lidless eyes was the last song written for the album, actually it was never even rehearsed, the final touches being made only minutes before recording. We wanted a heavy and meaningful song in the middle of the album to make it dynamic and interesting. The lyrics of this song are about having open eyes to what the world really looks like and never being able to shut that vision out. The music for this song is sad and sombre, typical for Fred. If ignorance is bliss; this is the opposite of that.
Armageddon

Armageddon is slightly different from the rest of the album including the lyrics. It's about the end of the world, pure and simple. And not the Hollywood kind, or the kind we read in read in religious scripture, it's worse than that because it is simply the end of everything. The lyrics talk about how mankind stands apart but will fall together.
Nailed Down

This song is about depression and finally you get to that point that your have to choose life or death. You have to end this constant pain and theres only one way out. The music for this song is also a bit experimental, we did some weird shit with it and we think it turned out well.
Let The World Burn

This is the title track from the demo in a changed version. Just like with Seed Of Destruction we wanted this song to be more direct. The lyrics for this song are about the wars of mankind and the reasons they happen. It's about how we will destroy the world in our hunger for hate and revenge. It is especially inspired by recent events and the hatred and killing that resulted.
Into Pain

Into Pain is straight up, in your face and direct. It was changed quite a bit from its original version to this end. The lyrics are equally direct and aggressive, releasing your inner fury and the pain that it will bring to both yourself and others with no concern for the consequences.
This Ending

One of the more technical songs on the album This Ending has a relentless drive that pushes the whole thing home. This song features excellent backing vocals by Linus and is a perfect ending for the album. This Ending is about destruction, creation, deceit and what it does to you when you believe everything wrong is right just by ignoring the truth.
