Die BLACKOUT PROBLEMS haben mit "Dark" den Titeltrack ihres kommenden Albums bereitgestellt. Das Album erscheint am 15.01.2021 via Sony Music/RCA/Munich Warehouse. Nach "MURDERER" ist "Dark" bereits die zweite Single der neuen Platte. Wie auch bei der ersten Single hat die Band aus München auch zu "Dark" ein bildintensives, eindringliches Musikvideo zum neuen Song gedreht.
Über den Song sagt die Band selbst:
"As you enter the D.A.R.K. you enter the world of Blackout Problems a bit more and find yourself surrounded by different moods and impressions which resemble a walk through a crowded place. We got the musicthat is quite energetic but also dreamy, we got the arrangement of the song that is partly a well know structure of a pop song which makes you feel at home, just to discard that feeling abruptly in the end and we of course got the lyrics which let you dive in deep into the minds of 2020 where we have to ask the question if we as a human species want to continue our mad crusade of exploiting each other and the planet we’re living on. Which better place to shoot a video in than a slaughterhouse?"
Sowohl "MURDERER" als auch "Dark" zeigen bereits, dass sich die BLACKOUT PROBLEMS auch auf ihrer dritten Platte wieder ein deutliches Stück weiterentwickelt haben. Vor allem "Dark" schlägt die Tür zum Dark Pop ein großes Stück auf. Für die Band sind Veränderungen in der musikalischen Ausrichtung natürlich:
„Wir schreiben über unser Leben. Somit laufen wir nicht Gefahr einen Song zwei Mal zu schreiben. Dinge können sich ähneln oder gleiche Ursprünge haben, aber nichts wird jemals das Gleiche sein. Am Ende bleibt alles für immer anders. 2020 hat das schon im Juni bewiesen.“
Im April 2021 ist eine erste Tour mit dem neuen Album geplant.
