Mit "Towards The End" stellen die franzoesischen Postpunks von BLEAKNESS einen ersten Song ihres kommenden Albums "Functionally Extinct" vor, welches am 6. Dezember bei Sabotage/Destructure erscheint. Im Statement sagt die Band:
"Even if the new album contains 10 songs with a different story and a different vision behind each, there is a strong theme that can be found in the whole album. As its title suggests, Functionally Exctinct is a collection of sad views of the world we're living in, a collection of observations of the consequences of absurd decisions taken by those who hold power. Even if some would think it sounds cliché to keep talking about these subjects in the punk scene, all those news and informations we hear everyday strengthen our commitment to sing that kind of lyrics. Political punk songs must be sung as long as we see the world around us continue to decline, as long as the more vulnerables keep being abused by the privileged."
