„Never Rest“ mag der Leitspruch des schwedischen Quartetts Bring The Mourning On sein, ist „Northern Ghost“ doch bereits das dritte Album in 4 Jahren. Die Besetzungsproblematik des Vorgängeralbums „Ukiah“ (Gitarrist Robert Wegner (If They Ask, Tell Them We’re Dead) und Drummer Jerker Wennström verließen die Band) wurde erfolgreich gelöst und mit Golden Kanine-Drummer Per Nordborg fand man einen veritablen Ersatz.
Für das Video zum Song "Fading Trail" vertraute die Band wieder auf die Künste des Björn Wahlström, der sich u.a. auf für den Clip zu "Eye Of The Beholder" oder aber "Climb" der Freunde Golden Kanine verantwortlich zeigt.
Wahlström über die Konzeption des Clips: "The film tells the story about the continuously struggle to find comfort and love. A calm harbor to lend shelter. Our most human need to be able to rest for one night. A child, a boy, a princess incapable of nurture what he or she has abducted. A desperate attempt to capture and imprison the need of belonging and the will to be needed in return. But alone, not given the choice and helplessly wanting, the heart of a fool, the heart of a man, will never cease trying to be able to hold love. If just once. Even though its clearly a fading trail."
