Der Song "Funeral" stammt im Original von der US-Indie-Saengerin Phoebe Bridgers. Anbei gibt es die Version der Kalifornier von SPANISH LOVE SONGS zu hoeren, die auf der dritten Ausgabe der SEA SHEPHERD COMPILATION Serie enthalten sein wird. Diese erscheint im März 2019 als limitierte Vinylpressung bei Uncle M. „Funeral“ wurde im August 2018 im NRG Studio in Los Angeles aufgenommen und ist die erste Auskopplung der Punkrockband seit dem Erscheinen des aktuellen Albums "Schmaltz".
Frontmann Dylan Slocum erklärt:
„We picked this song by Phoebe Bridgers simply because it's beautiful, sad, and the one song we could all agree on. We play her album in the van constantly, and I find more musical commonality with her than with a lot of regular punk rock. We also wanted a song that was more a blank slate for us to have fun with, rather than something familiar that we'd have to really adhere to"
