This year`s Summerblast edition is going all the way back from which this festival has been coming from – no barriers, bands that have something to say and live up for a certain way of thinking, a festival which offers scene-related movie screening and discussions which take a focus on more than just music. For this edition we will have 12 (!!!) hardcore-related bands playing the indoor stage. No one else than the hopefuls of THE GHOST INSIDE will headline the fest, supported by UK`s most wanted hc act YOUR DEMISE. Having a strong political message under their belt FIRST BLOOD will make no prisoners will their energetic liveshow while NO TURNING BACK is THE definition of an dedicated non-stop touring hc band with 110% integrity in what they are doing. The bill is completed by 8 more hc- bands making their way from all over the world to play the Summerblast indoor fest and leaving you in singalongs, circle pits and crew shouts!!!

17.30 – 19.15 Movie Screening „EDGE THE MOVIE“: (Official Pressinfo: Through interviews with musicians that directly shaped the idea of Straight Edge from its inception until today,
EDGE reveals that the abstinence from drugs was established as a youth counter culture rejecting a society dominated by substance abuse and hegemony. Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi), Ray Cappo (Youth of Today, Shelter) and Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, Freya) give witness to their perception of the history of Straight Edge, why it was so important to them and what it changed in their personal and professional careers. But how do people discover Straight Edge? How do women experience Straight Edge subculture? What social backgrounds are shared by people new to the scene and what makes someone turn Straight Edge? How does mainstream culture perceive this movement? EDGE is looking for answers to these questions on a roadtrip behind and beyond the scenes of the Straight Edge subculture
19.30 – 20.30 Panel Discussion: After the movie screening a follow-up panel discussion with the movie directors Marc Pierschel and Michael Kirchner as well as 3 more people on the podium is coming up. There will be a yet to be confirmed central question as headline to the panel- discussion focussing on how the straight edge lifestyle can still have an positive impact on modern youth culture in the hardcore scene.
