TAKE IT BACK! aus Arkansas wählen auf dem "Can't Fight Robots" Nachfolger, "Atrocities", klare Worte während sie die lethargische Teilnahmslosigkeit in der heutigen Gesellschaft anprangern. Noch immer ist das christlich geprägte Gespann stark durch die poppige, musikalische Leichtigkeit von Bands wie SET YOUR GOALS und FOUR YEAR STRONG beeinflusst und mischt munter melodischen Hardcore mit Punkrock. Jüngst zeigt man sich jedoch deutlich intensiver und atmosphärischer. Der nun leicht in Richtung VERSE und MODERN LIFE IS WAR tendierende Sound wird durch den neuen Vokalisten Nick und seinem charakteristisch hellen Organ abgerundet.
Der Opener "The Beginning. Nothing." baut unverholen einen Turm aus spannungsgeladenen Turm aus musikalischen Wackersteinen, bevor sämtliche Energie beim drauffolgenden "New Empire" und "Lost Generation" atmosphärisch entladen wird. Poppig-melodischer mit einer gesungenen Hook wird es hingegen bei "Hollow Eyes" obwohl man lyrisch weiterhin mit dem Status Quo abrechnet. Und immer wieder folgt der Aufruf aktiv zu werden und nicht nur zuzuschauen - "And now I realize that all of this means nothing without action. I will not just sing. I refuse to just sing songs about how hard life can be, while others lead lives that are more difficult than anything I can ever imagine.". "New Empire" und "What We’re Fighting For" dürfte einigen bereits von der "Rumors Of Revolt" EP bekannt sein und beide Songs sind exemplarisch für den allgemeinen Tenor auf "Atrocities". TAKE IT BACK! haben ihre Line-Up Variationen offensichtlich gut überstanden und ein absolut ansprechendes Release für diesen Hardcore Winter abgeliefert.
